Description
Bord White MDF Backing is a 3mm medium density fibreboard panel with a smooth white-coated face on one side and an unfinished MDF reverse. A multi-purpose backing and lining sheet, it is widely used in cabinetry, joinery, furniture making, and as a clean interior back panel for timber veneer cabinetry.
At approximately 6 to 7kg per sheet, the product is lightweight, easy to handle, and simple to cut and trim on site. Supplied in various sheet sizes, it pairs with Bord's carcass melamine and timber veneer panel ranges for complete cabinet construction. For internal applications only.

Specifications
Material: Bord White MDF Backing is a 3mm medium density fibreboard with a smooth white-coated face. Used as a backing and lining sheet across cabinetry, joinery, furniture, and timber veneer panel construction.
Construction: Single-sided. The white coating is applied to one face only, with an unfinished MDF reverse. Designed for applications where only the coated face is visible, such as cabinet interiors and the back of veneer-faced panels.
Finish: Smooth white coating with a clean, uniform appearance. Provides a finished interior surface for cabinet backs, drawer bottoms, wardrobe and cupboard interiors, and the reverse of veneer panels. Not a decorative-grade surface, and not suitable for exposed door fronts, wall panels, or other high-wear visible applications.
Recommended Application: Cabinet back panels, drawer bottoms, wardrobe and cupboard backs, and similar non-structural concealed applications where a clean white interior surface is required. Particularly suited as the back panel for timber veneer cabinetry, where a finished white interior complements the veneer exterior. May also be used as a balancing back layer in custom veneer panel constructions to maintain stability. For internal applications only.
Not Suitable For: Structural panels, cabinet sides, shelves, doors, exposed edges, benchtops, vanities, wet areas, outdoor applications, or any high-impact, high-traffic, or load-bearing use.
Installation: Designed to be rebated or grooved into the rear of cabinet carcases. Can also be pinned, stapled, or glued to the cabinet back depending on construction method. Edges are typically concealed within the carcase joinery and do not require sealing or edge banding.
Performance: A non-decorative, non-structural product. The MDF core is standard grade and is not moisture resistant. The white coating is not designed for repeated cleaning, moisture exposure, or high-wear applications.
Wet Area Suitability: Not suitable for wet areas. Avoid use in environments with high humidity, frequent moisture, or steam exposure. The MDF core is susceptible to swelling and damage from water ingress.

Important information:
Moisture exposure: The MDF core and unsealed edges are susceptible to moisture damage. Keep dry during transport, storage, and installation.
Storage: Store flat on a level surface in dry conditions, away from direct sunlight, to prevent bow or warp.
Surface grade: The white face is designed as a clean concealed interior surface, not a decorative or visible one. It is not graded to the same surface durability standard as decorative laminates or melamine-faced board.
