Bending Plywood (also known as Bendy Ply, Flexible Plywood, or Flexi Ply) is engineered to bend smoothly around tight radii without splitting or cracking.
This lightweight, flexible plywood is designed for efficient handling on site and works with standard woodworking tools. It's commonly used for curved furniture, cabinetry, decorative panelling, reception desks, cylindrical columns, and architectural features where traditional plywood won't flex.
Whether you're building curved joinery or creating architectural features, Bending Plywood gives you the flexibility to execute complex designs efficiently.

Specifications
Construction: 2-ply construction with a thin centre core. Unlike traditional plywood, all veneer layers are oriented with their grain running in the same direction (unidirectional layering), which enables the panel to bend without cracking.
Bending Direction:
- Long Band: Bends along the 2440mm length - ideal for creating tall columns up to 2440mm high.
- Short Band: Bends along the 1220mm width - ideal for creating shorter columns up to 1220mm high.
Minimum Bending Radius:
- 5mm thickness: 220mm minimum radius
- 8mm thickness: 400mm minimum radius
Surface Grade: B grade face and back. This grade allows for minor flaws and small sound knots but provides a solid surface suitable for painting, staining, or finishing with veneer and laminate.
Emission Standard: E1 (≤0.124 mg/m³) - Low formaldehyde content, meeting standards for internal applications.
Recommended application: Internal use only. Not designed for structural or exterior applications. Ideal for columns, furniture, desks, curved cabinetry, decorative wall panelling, reception desks, motor home and caravan interiors, and general shopfitting.
Working with Bending Plywood: Can be cut and shaped with standard woodworking tools. Panels require site sanding before finishing.
Finishing: Designed as a substrate for decorative finishes including paint, stain, veneer, or laminate.

Important notice: As a natural wood product, plywood can be affected by ambient conditions and may bow. Sheets are flat at dispatch but must be fastened promptly to maintain flatness. This is particularly important for non-fastened cabinet doors.
