Specifications
Specifications
Material: High Pressure Decorative Laminate
Colour Code: 1008
Finish (options vary by colour):
- Velour: A highly durable, multi-purpose low sheen finish suitable for benchtops, wall panels, desktops, tabletops, vanities, and cabinetry.
- AR Plus: A high gloss finish for moderate use applications that requires more care and maintenance. Primarily used for benchtops and cabinetry.
Recommended Application: For internal applications only. Must only be bonded directly to particleboard or medium density fibreboard. Not suitable for direct application to plaster, plasterboard, masonry, or concrete.
Postforming: Formica® Decorative Laminate is suitable for curved surfaces. Solid colours can be formed to a minimum radius of 10mm. Patterns, woodgrains, and stone designs can be formed to a minimum radius of 8mm. For cold forming, laminate must be bonded to Craftform MDF with a minimum bending radius of 200mm. Attempting tighter bends may cause cracking or surface damage and should only be undertaken with specialised equipment and thorough testing at the purchaser's risk.
Panel Pressing Service: Bord can press Formica® laminates onto substrates and supply as ready-to-install panels. Contact us to enquire about pricing and lead times.
Installation: Apply using a smooth, even glue layer. Note that contact adhesive must not be used with AR Plus Gloss laminate. Use laminate sheets within 12 months of purchase. Do not allow the protective film to remain on the surface for more than 9 months.
Performance: Stain resistant, heat resistant, water resistant, scratch resistant, and UV stable for indoor use. Independently fire tested to a Group 2 classification under AS 5637.1-2015.
Wet Area Suitability: Suitable for use in kitchens, bathrooms, and vanities. Should not be used with undermount sinks due to risk of water ingress and delamination. Do not expose to frequent or excessive heat or moisture. Do not place hot objects such as saucepans or irons directly onto the decorative surface.
Warranty: 7-year limited warranty, residential and commercial.
Sheet Weight (Approx):
| Sheet Size | 0.7mm |
|---|---|
| 1800 × 750 | 1 kg |
| 1800 × 1500 | 1.5 kg |
| 3600 × 750 | 1.5 kg |
| 3600 × 1500 | 3 kg |
Care & Maintenance: For day-to-day cleaning, use a mild dishwashing detergent diluted in warm water and finish with a clean dry cloth. For streaky marks, use a glass cleaner such as Windex. Do not use solvents, strongly acidic or alkaline cleaners, alcohol-based compounds, commercial cleaning agents, waxes, polishes, undiluted bleach, or ammonia. Do not use the decorative face as a cutting surface. Immediately clean spills containing strong pigments, hair dye, or solvent-based inks. Darker colours will show fingerprints, scratches, and superficial wear more readily and require more careful maintenance.
Important information:
UV exposure: Do not expose to prolonged direct or indirect UV light, including windowsill applications, as this may result in shrinkage or colour changes beyond normal tolerances.
Colour accuracy: Website images should be used as a general reference only. Formica® laminate is produced to tight batch to batch colour tolerances of ΔE ≤ 1, small variations in colour may be perceived between batches, for strict colour matching please contact us.
