Formica® Finesse Sand ABS Edge Banding is a 100% PVC-free decorative edge banding manufactured in Australia by Formica®, part of the Laminex Group, with a yellow-warm printed pattern that looks like a solid colour from a distance but up close very fine textural detail can be seen surface. Supplied unglued with a primed back surface, it is designed for use with conventional hot-melt adhesive systems or edge banding machines.
As a 100% PVC-free ABS edge banding, it offers a more environmentally responsible alternative to traditional PVC edge banding. Lightfast with a grey scale rating of ≥ 4. For internal applications only.

- Stipple: A smooth, lightly stippled, hard-wearing finish.
- Satin: A smooth, hard-wearing low sheen finish.
- Pearl: A smooth, lightly stippled, hard-wearing finish.
- Grain: A hard-wearing, tactile matte woodgrain texture.
- Gloss: An easy-care, semi-gloss finish.
Recommended Application: Suitable for application on panel edges including MDF, plywood, particleboard, and laminate. For internal applications only.
Installation: Formica® ABS edge banding is supplied unglued with a primed back surface, designed for use with conventional hot-melt adhesive systems or edge banding machines.
Performance: Impact resistant with no-break performance under testing. Scratch and abrasion resistant. Lightfast with a grey scale rating of ≥ 4.
Wet Area Suitability: Suitable for high-humidity environments such as kitchens and bathrooms. Should not be exposed to prolonged direct water contact or submersion. Ensure all edges are properly sealed to prevent moisture ingress. Do not expose to heat from front-venting oven installations without a heat deflector shield, fugitive heat from appliance seals, or benchtop hot plates used without exhaust fan activation.
Warranty: 7-year limited warranty, residential and commercial.
Care & Maintenance: For day-to-day cleaning, use a mild dishwashing detergent diluted in warm water and finish with a clean dry cloth. Do not use solvents, strongly acidic or alkaline cleaners, alcohol-based compounds, commercial cleaning agents, waxes, polishes, undiluted bleach, or ammonia. Darker colours will show fingerprints, scratches, and superficial wear more readily and require more careful maintenance.
Important information:
Colour matching: Formica® ABS edge banding and Formica® decorated board products are different surface materials. Use of different surface materials within a single installation may result in a perceived visual variation. Batch to batch colour variation is held to ΔE ≤ 1.0 for light and medium colours and ΔE ≤ 1.5 for dark and strong colours. Images and samples should be used as a general reference only.
UV exposure: Do not expose to prolonged direct or indirect UV light, as this may result in shrinkage or colour changes beyond normal tolerances.
