Description
European Oak Paper Back Veneer is an innovative product combining real crown cut oak timber veneer with advanced flexible backing technology. The jointed veneer sheet is pressed onto paper and specially treated to enhance flexibility.
Pre-sanded with 150 grain, this veneer is ready to be finished with your choice of varnish, stain, or wax. Each sheet measures 2500mm long x 1240mm wide, with a veneer thickness of 0.6mm on a 0.1mm paper backing that's colour-matched to complement the wood.
Very flexible and user friendly, this product can be glued onto almost any substrate, making it perfect for doors, wall panels, furniture components, and curved surfaces. It can also be used as a quick way of finishing the edges of any other type of panel material. It provides an effective solution for achieving a premium wood finish, even on challenging curved or complex forms.

Tolerance: ±20mm on dimensions; 60mm/m on flatness
Curve radius: Paper-backed veneer is designed for use on curved surfaces with a minimum recommended bending radius of 150 mm. Tighter bends may be possible using specialised techniques (e.g., steam-bending or vacuum pressing); however, any attempt to use smaller radii should be thoroughly tested and is undertaken at the purchasers own risk.

Sheet Matching: Available in non-matching or matching sheets. Learn more about sheet matching
Finish: Unsanded raw veneer. Must be sanded and sealed with a UV-resistant, clear non-yellowing coating, oil, varnish, stain, or wax.
Recommended application: Furniture, cabinets, bench tops, walls, ceilings, joinery and more.
Surface preparation: Ensure all surfaces are free of grease, dust and other dirt. The surface should be cleaned efficiently with denatured ethyl alcohol.
Finishing recommendations: It is preferable to leave 4 or 5 days between gluing and finishing to ensure all solvents from the glue have disappeared.
Gluing: Can be manually glued with contact adhesive or in a press (hot max 70°C, or cold). For press applications, PVCA-glue or UF-glue is recommended.
Edging: Matching veneer edging is available from Bord. While we endeavour to find the best match, please note that edging, even if the same species, may not exactly match the face veneer.
Important information:
- Timber veneer panels are inherently subject to bowing, cupping, or warping, and may change colour when exposed to UV light. Read our wood-based panel specifications to understand tolerances and protection methods.
- Natural veneer from the same timber species can vary in colour and pattern between sheets. Images and samples should be used as a general reference only. For specific matching requirements or to request a batch control sample, contact us before placing your order.
