Description
This pre-glued Blackbutt natural timber veneer showcases a crown cut grain with the species' characteristic pale golden to light brown coloration. Designed for heat-activated application, the veneer bonds securely to MDF, plywood, or other suitable substrates when applied with an iron or hot press, eliminating the need for messy adhesives and significantly reducing installation time.
Measuring 0.6mm thick, 2450mm long, and 305mm wide, this veneer is supplied raw and ready to be finished with your choice of varnish, stain, or wax. Its thin profile ensures flexibility for curved applications, making it suitable for cabinetry, wall panels, furniture, curved reception desks, column wraps, and decorative feature walls.
The veneer sheets can be easily edge-joined to cover larger surfaces, making them versatile for projects of any size. They offer the authentic look and feel of solid timber without the susceptibility to movement and warping that comes with solid wood. The pre-glued backing makes these veneers accessible for both professional cabinetmakers and skilled DIY enthusiasts looking to achieve professional results.

Tolerance: ±15mm on length, ±10mm on width; 30mm/m on flatness
Curve radius: Designed for use on curved surfaces with a minimum recommended bending radius of 200mm. Tighter bends may be possible using specialised techniques; however, any attempt to use smaller radii should be thoroughly tested and is undertaken at the purchaser's own risk.

Sheet Matching: Available in non-matching or matching sheets. Learn more about sheet matching
Finish: Unsanded raw veneer. Must be sanded and sealed with a UV-resistant, clear non-yellowing coating, oil, varnish, stain, or wax.
Recommended application: Ideal for laminating MDF, plywood, and most common wooden substrates. Perfect for cabinetry, wall panels, furniture, curved reception desks, column wraps, and decorative feature walls. Not recommended for solid wood application.
Application method: Apply using a household iron set to medium-high heat (150-180°C) with NO steam or a specialised heat applicator tool. Work in small sections (approximately 30cm at a time), applying even pressure as you go. After heating each section, immediately apply firm pressure using a veneer roller or J-roller to ensure proper adhesion. Allow the veneer to cool completely before proceeding with finishing.
Surface preparation: Ensure all surfaces are free of grease, dust and other dirt. The surface should be sanded flat and cleaned thoroughly before application.
Finishing recommendations: It is preferable to leave 4 or 5 days between application and finishing to ensure all heat from the application process has fully dissipated.
Edging: Matching veneer edging is available from Bord. While we endeavour to find the best match, please note that edging, even if the same species, may not exactly match the face veneer. Note that these pre-glued veneer leaves can also be used to finish panel edges.
Important information:
- Timber veneer panels are inherently subject to bowing, cupping, or warping, and may change colour when exposed to UV light. Read our wood-based panel specifications to understand tolerances and protection methods.
- Natural veneer from the same timber species can vary in colour and pattern between sheets. Images and samples should be used as a general reference only.
- Pre-glued veneer leaves are manufactured in different locations to veneer panels. While every effort is made to find the closest match, exact colour and pattern matching between these products is not possible. For specific matching requirements or to request a batch control sample, contact us before placing your order.
