Specifications
Material: Brushed Aluminium Laminate on Black MDF is a brushed metallic-effect high pressure decorative laminate bonded to black-through medium density fibreboard, with a balancing backer applied to the reverse face. The black-through core eliminates visible brown edges where the substrate is exposed.
Construction: Single-sided. The decorative laminate is applied to one face only, with a balancing backer applied to the reverse face to prevent warping. Not suitable for applications where both faces are visible.
Finish: Brushed metallic appearance. The decorative surface is a high pressure laminate finished to resemble brushed metal; it is not a real metal foil.
Recommended Application: Designed primarily for kickers and toe boards. Also suitable for cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and feature wall panelling. Particularly suited to applications where the substrate edge will be visible and a darker edge profile is desired. For internal applications only. Not suitable for wet areas, outdoor applications, or installations subject to high impact or high abrasion.
Installation: The metallic effect is directional. Note the arrows on the protective film and install all panels in the same orientation within a single project; mixed orientation will cause apparent colour and tone variation between adjacent panels. All edges should be sealed during fabrication. Use within 12 months of purchase. Do not allow the protective film to remain on the surface for more than 9 months.
Wet Area Suitability: Not suitable for wet areas. Standard MDF is not moisture resistant and may swell on contact with water.

Care & Maintenance: For day-to-day cleaning, use a mild dishwashing detergent diluted in warm water and finish with a clean dry cloth. For streaky marks, use a glass cleaner such as Windex. Do not use solvents, strongly acidic or alkaline cleaners, alcohol-based compounds, commercial cleaning agents, waxes, polishes, undiluted bleach, or ammonia. The metallic finish shows fingerprints and surface marks more readily than standard laminate decors. Avoid abrasive materials, scouring pads, and excessive force.
Important information:
Not a real metal surface: The brushed metallic appearance is a decorative laminate finish, not a real metal foil. Visual differences from genuine metal surfaces should be expected.
Application limitations: This product is a vertical-grade laminate designed for light vertical applications only. Not suitable for horizontal applications, high impact, or high abrasion installations.
Wood-based panels are inherently subject to bowing, cupping, or warping, and may change colour when exposed to UV light. Read our wood-based panel specifications to understand tolerances and protection methods.
Colour accuracy: Website images should be used as a general reference only. Small variations in colour may be perceived between batches; for strict colour matching please contact us.
