Reconstituted veneer Melbourne & Australia wide

Reconstituted veneer (also known as recon, engineered, manufactured or man-made veneer) is made from natural wood strips that are dyed, laminated together and sliced to create a unique patterned leaf. These leaves are then glued to a substrate such as MDF or particleboard and used to manufacture furniture or joinery. Unlike natural timber veneers, recon veneers are free from imperfections such as knots, splits and holes. Because they are man-made, reconstituted veneers are consistent in colour, pattern and grain. This makes them ideal for covering large areas such as wall panels, doors and cabinetry.

Reconstituted veneer is available in a variety of colours, patterns and panel sizes. To the untrained eye, reconstituted veneers might look like natural timber veneer. But you can usually recognise them by their striped pattern. Reconstituted veneers have similar properties to natural timber veneers. As a wood product, they are also good for the environment.
